Adobe PhotoShop Default format – PSD File Extension

Adobe Photoshop and many other applications support PSD file. It is a modified image format that provides features like filters, layers, and graphics to modify an image file. The PSD extension is also provided in documents that are in image form. Using certain application user can modify text, fonts, and structure of images or documents using PSD format.

PSD file Location is dynamic, that is its location can be defined by a user or it is stored in default application folder. The default location of PSD file is same as a location where an application is installed.

A PSD file can be opened using any application that supports it but there are few applications that allow advanced modification in this file components. They are as follows:

  • Adobe Photoshop CC, Illustrator, and Elements
  • Corel Draw PaintShop, Painter, and Graphics

There are some free tools that also allow user to view and modify PSD files
